The 19 year old French actress is set to make waves in Hollywood, following a critically acclaimed performance in Blue Is The Warmest Colour, tipped to win her the Best Actress accolade at this year's Cannes Film Festival, despite facing fierce competition from the likes of Carey Mulligan, Tilda Swinton, Marion Cotillard and Kristin Scott Thomas.
The relatively unknown actress, who started her career in smaller French film and TV shows, plays Adèle, a young lesbian exploring her sexuality for the first time. Appearing in every scene of the three hour film, her performance, which caught attention for her unsimulated sex scenes with co-star Léa Seydoux, was praised for its subtlety and lack of cliché by critics.
